On September 1 2022, Chairman Chen Jian-Xin and General Manager Chen Wei-Wang (Chairman of TCIA) jointly attended the “TCIA Net Zero Emissions Declaration”.
In the face of the challenge of global climate change, the Taiwan Chemical Industry Association (TCIA) fulfills its obligations as a global citizen, integrates the technologies and resources of its members, continues to promote net-zero emissions, assists the industry in responding to the trend of global climate change, and jointly moves towards 2050 with the country and society. Move towards the net-zero goal and make substantial contributions to global sustainable development.
To this end, TCIA joins hands with its members to propose the following three commitments:
1. TCIA promises to fulfill its responsibility to protect the earth, fulfill the contents of the Paris Agreement, work with members to implement United Nations climate actions, develop low-carbon and carbon-negative new technologies, protect the ecological environment, achieve the 2050 net-zero emission goal, and support the future with practical actions. Keep global temperature rise within 1.5°C.
2. TCIA promises to follow the National Development Council’s “Taiwan 2050 Net-Zero Emissions Path” framework, integrate the energy of industry, government, academia and research, assist members in innovating manufacturing processes, energy transformation, circular economy, and develop hydrogen energy technology, carbon dioxide capture and synthetic materials, and various types of carbon-negative technologies, assisting members in developing net-zero emissions solutions and seizing business opportunities;
3. TCIA is committed to becoming a bridge between Taiwan’s chemical industry and society, integrating with international net-zero emission strategies, introducing advanced specifications and technologies, linking midstream and downstream application industries, and building a net-zero emission ecological chain. Promote the establishment of Taiwan’s chemical industry emission disclosure mechanism, proactively provide the public with the current status of chemical industry emissions, establish a basis for group dialogue with correct information, and implement corporate social responsibilities.
Everlight Chemical agrees with the above commitment and is willing to work with TCIA to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions in 2050 and is committed to various practices that are conducive to net-zero emissions.
